Course Details

Course Summary

This online assessment module examines the topics covered in the Chemistry Essentials micro-credential set including matter, molecules, bonding, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, acids and bases, and organic chemistry. In addition to gaining an introductory understanding of chemical concepts, you will learn to perform chemical calculations. This course will provide you with a foundation for university study in the chemical sciences.

Students who successfully complete the CQUniversity School of Access Education's Chemistry Essentials set of 6 micro-credentials, may receive a unit exemption from the equivalent CL03 Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) unit with CQUniversity.

To be eligible for this exemption, students must have completed:

  1. PDC116782 Elements, Molecules and Compounds
  2. PDC116783 Chemical Reactions
  3. PDC116784 Stoichiometry
  4. PDC116785 Acids and Bases
  5. PDC116786 Organic Chemistry
  6. PDC116788 Assessment Module: Chemistry Essentials
