Dementia is the term used to describe the symptoms of a large group of illnesses that cause a progressive decline in a person’s functioning. It is a broad term used to describe a loss of memory, intellect, rationality and social skills. It is estimated that there are more than 413,000 people in Australia with dementia. This online Short Course identifies the common types of dementia and outlines models of dementia that can be used in any clinical or community setting.
