Course Summary

This online Short Course describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to identify when the provision of nutritional advice is beyond the scope of practice of a personal trainer. It requires the ability to recognise the dangers of providing nutrition advice in a fitness setting and when a client requires referral to an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Accredited Sports Dietitian or General Practitioner. The course covers recognition of appropriate information sources to apply to the provision of food advice, and when the provision of such advice is unethical and beyond the scope of practice.

This online Short Course provides a non-creditable micro-credential and digital badge which can be shared to your social networks and displayed in your professional portfolio.

The fee for this short course will be $45.

This course provides Professional Development for health and/or fitness professionals.

Undertaking this course enables students to meet their Continuing Professional Development obligations and industry update requirements in their profession. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours, a non-creditable micro-credential (Digital Badge) and a Certificate of Completion.

If you are a Registered Exercise Professional with Fitness Australia as a Group Exercise/Gym Instructor or greater, you will also be eligible to attain Fitness Australia CECs on the successful completion of this course.

This is a Fitness Australia Accredited micro-credential. To gain your CEC’s you will be required to upload your certificate into your CEC diary on your Fitness Australia account and select your approved course for Fitness Australia to verify.
