The ActiveEwe project will develop a set of educator and student learning materials to allow teachers to deliver lessons which will allow students to achieve selected learning outcomes for the Stage 5 Mathematics syllabus. This online resource will consist of a sequence of at least 10 lessons where students will collect their own accelerometer data and analyse existing datasets from a range of sources. This exposes students to one of the leading-edge technologies in the livestock industry and demonstrates how mathematical knowledge is essential in many careers. It is funded by the New South Wales Department of Education and will be available on an open access basis and free of charge. A series of professional development workshops will be conducted in New South Wales to facilitate the use of the learning material.
