This online Short Course has been designed to complement the work delivered by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) to focus on developing teacher confidence, capability and expertise in the key concepts and topics covered in the Business syllabus. It offers subject-specific knowledge and skills needed to underpin effective and contemporary approaches to teaching and learning in the subject.
This course introduces the business life cycle from the seed to post-maturity stage and helps participants to develop skills in examining business data and information. The business life cycle is not just a tool for explaining a business concept, it situates a range of topics, issues and enquiries within the stages in the life of a business. The course introduces a range of activities designed to simulate the creation of a case study which is developed through a sequence of stages. Completing all activities provides an opportunity to develop a resource to support learning of the subject matter including the process of idea generation and how these ideas can develop into a business. The participant will also use different techniques to analyse the viability of a business idea.
The fee for this short course will be $100.00.
There are no specific entry requirements to enrol in this short course, however, it is designed for Secondary School teachers who expect to teach the QCAA Business General Senior Syllabus.
