This online Short Course has been designed to complement the work delivered by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) to focus on developing teacher confidence, capability and expertise in the key concepts and topics covered in the Digital Solutions syllabus. It offers subject-specific knowledge and skills needed to underpin effective and contemporary approaches to teaching and learning in the subject.
This course focuses on data-driven problems and solutions as well as data and programming techniques. Participants will learn to understand and analyse data-driven problems (such as databases) and be able to recognise the elements for a data-driven solution. The course introduces identifying criteria to plan a user interface and programmed digital solution, including skills and resources to generate a prototype digital solution to access, manipulate and display data in a website, mobile application or interactive media. This will enable participants to represent the iterative technical analysis as a visual map, depicting the four distinct phases of the process from identified problem to recommended solution.
The fee for this short course will be $100.00.
There are no specific entry requirements to enrol in this short course, however, it is designed for Secondary School teachers who expect to teach the QCAA Digital Solutions General Senior Syllabus.
