Course Summary

This online Short Course has been designed to complement the work delivered by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) to focus on developing teacher confidence, capability and expertise in the key concepts and topics covered in the Business syllabus. It offers subject-specific knowledge and skills needed to underpin effective and contemporary approaches to teaching and learning in the subject.

This course introduces the business life cycle from the seed to post-maturity stage and helps participants develop skills in examining business data and information. The participant will work with cognitive verbs to create protocols for undertaking business research and develop ideas for teaching basic business concepts.

There is no fee associated with this short course.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements to enrol in this short course, however, it is designed for Secondary School teachers who expect to teach the QCAA Business General Senior Syllabus.

This course provides Professional Development for Secondary School teachers in Queensland who would like to complete studies in a flexible and self-paced environment to gain business insights to inform teaching practices.

Undertaking this course enables teachers to meet Continuing Professional Development obligations for registration. Upon successful completion of the course, teachers will be awarded 1 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hour and a CQUniversity Certificate of Completion.
