PDC72508 - Why Leadership Matters

Course Details

Course Summary

In this online short course, you will explore the reasons why transformational leadership matters. Transformational leadership matters because it represents a type of leadership that promotes greater work-life balance among team members. It promotes a more sustainable way of life that decreases unproductive and detrimental incidents (such as burnouts, exhaustion, sleep deprivation and stress). Given that in today's competitive market companies can no longer guarantee long-term viability through the exclusive focus on profit-seeking, transformational leadership is necessary to promote other values in workplace culture. The course will explore the differences between transformational leadership and other styles of leadership. You will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of transformational leadership and discuss situations most suited to transformational leadership.
