Mandatory training to enable students to commence working in an open-cut mining environment.
The assessors must have a certain number of years experience in the coal mining industry. All other compliance requirements under the RTO Standards 2015 must also be met.

73.5 hours of structured training, including Standard 11 and foundational units which will provide strong underpinning knowledge and skills in line with the organisation’s values and culture. Training is delivered over 7 days, with each shift being 12 hours (10.5 hours of learning). Learners are put onto a rolling roster, which comprises 7-days on and 7-days off including morning shifts and afternoon shifts. This block includes structured training, which is delivered off the job within the BHP training environment (FutureFit Academy).
