Course Summary

The Certificate III in Sport Coaching reflects the role of individuals who utilise their skills and knowledge to deliver preorganised coaching to intermediate level participants in a specific sport.  
 
This course offers a pathway for individuals to work or volunteer in community coaching roles within sports clubs and organisations across the Australian Sports Industry. Those with this qualification are able to demonstrate a range of well-developed skills, exercising discretion and judgement.
 
The skills acquired through this qualification must be practised in alignment with relevant Commonwealth, State, or Territory legislation, Australian standards, and industry codes of practice. 
 
Industry-specific accreditation requirements may apply to coaching in certain sports. For accurate information, individuals should consult the relevant National Sporting Organisation (NSO).

Entry Requirements

To help us understand how best to support you, you’ll need to complete the bksb (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy, numeracy and digital literacy assessments to progress your application. Alternatively, completion of an equal or higher level course may exempt you from this testing. 
 
Students must be high school students in Year 11 or 12 and be enrolled in or have completed CQUniversity’s Certificate II in Sport Coaching as part of the Sport Coaching dual qualification pathway.

Course Structures
START TAFE NOW

Students must be high school students. Students will participate in a combination of online and practical learning activities through their school or sporting club. Support with arranging practical activities can be discussed with the Fitness teaching staff.

Enrolments for this program are spread over the study duration to provide the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge. Some units with similar outcomes have been clustered to enhance the learning experience. Students can extend their study duration and access educational support if required.
