This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have a defined and limited range of tourism operational skills and basic industry knowledge. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision. This qualification provides a pathway to work in many tourism and travel industry sectors and for a diverse range of employers including travel agencies, tour wholesalers, tour operators, attractions, cultural and heritage sites, and any small tourism business.
There are no entry requirements for this course.
Students must complete a Vocational Placement and/or Work Integrated Learning as part of this qualification.
Additional information
Practical skills will need to be demonstrated in an industry or simulated environment such as a tourist provider, guided tours, tour activities and does not need to be purely based in an office environment. Students will need access to an environment where the planning, sale and supply of tourism and travel products and services are offered along with access to organisational policies and procedures. Students not currently working in the industry, or who don’t have access to workplace simulated environments will need to organise this in consultation with teaching staff. Dual Qualification
Students can choose to complete a dual qualification from two of the three qualifications listed below. The two courses will be completed over a period of two years:

Assessment information
To successfully complete the video recording assessment, you will need to participate in role plays or simulated activities, set up for the purpose of assessment in a simulated workplace environment.
A workplace simulated environment could include a café or bar setup and include additional customers, people ordering drinks, standard glass sizes and having water available.
You must show signage (located at https://www.business.qld.gov.au/industries/hospitality-tourism-sport/liquor-gaming/liquor/harm-minimisation), alcohol measures used to serve standard drinks or samples.
