Course Summary

This skill set equips individuals with the essential skills and knowledge to independently conduct assessments within the vocational education and training (VET) sector, ensuring compliance with the Standards for RTOs. 

Requirements - To Be Eligible

For your application to be considered, you must meet the following entry requirements.

Entry Requirements

Completion of the BKSB (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy, numeracy and digital literacy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or higher level course.

Those entering this skill set must be able to demonstrate vocational competence in their proposed assessment area. Vocational competence is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.

  • Minimum of three (3) years work experience in your chosen assessment area. Required evidence: letter of employment/employment statement/document confirming this experience
             OR
  • A relevant unit of competency or qualification in your chosen assessment area. Due to assessors requiring up to date qualifications, if the unit or qualification was completed prior to 2015, you will require evidence of work experience (to confirm currency) Required Evidence: statement of attainment, qualification, testamur etc

 

Additional study requirements

  • access to computer with internet
  • webcam for recording of assessment delivery
  • access to other 'students' for assessment and validation

You can work for a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) as an assessor with this skill set. Complimentary industry experience or qualification in your chosen assessment area.

The units in this skill set provide credit towards CQUniversity’s TAE40122 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Course Structures

Full Time Duration

14 weeks

 

This skill set is delivered via our online platform, Moodle, for 14 weeks. Students should expect to commit approximately 18 hours per week.

This skill set is competency based, and students can complete their training sooner if they have reached the required skill level.

Students must successfully complete all components of the assessment tasks within the course to be deemed competent.

This online program will provide group zoom sessions once per week. Where participants cannot join at the specified time, a recording will be available for access
