Course Overview

The aim of the Graduate Certificate in Advanced Accident Investigation Practice is to provide students who have graduated with a Bachelor of Accident Forensics or Graduate Diploma of Accident Investigation an opportunity to further develop their accident investigation and prevention related knowledge, analysis and research skills in a way that will enable them to lead and manage specific complex safety and investigation environments. Students have an opportunity to choose an advanced specialisation to complement their previous studies including:

  • Rail Safety Investigation
  • Air Safety Investigation
  • Road Safety Investigation
  • Industrial Accident Investigation

Students will have the opportunity to gain crucial lifelong learning and transferable generic skills, such as critical thinking, and problem solving. They will be able to apply these skills to a range of employment opportunities and life situations to complement their disciplinary base.

Graduates of the CQU accident investigation courses are highly sought after by a range of industries including mining, manufacturing, maritime, aviation, defence, transport and logistics, health, consultancy and also government departments and authorities such as the police force.
