The Master of Podiatry Practice prepares you for advanced clinical practice in the profession of podiatry. Podiatrists are health professionals who deal with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of medical and surgical conditions of the feet and lower limbs. This course is a graduate-entry course whereby you are required to have completed an undergraduate degree from a recognised tertiary education institution prior to entry. Graduate students with the appropriate qualifications will be provided a means of entry to the profession of podiatry by undertaking an accelerated course of study. Completed over five academic terms this course emphasises the integration of previous skills and knowledge with the principles and practice of podiatry. The course is demanding and requires you to be focused on intensive study and also be available for associated clinical placement between terms. On successful completion, you will be eligible to apply for registration to practice as a podiatrist (subject to external accreditation with Australia and New Zealand Podiatry Accreditation Council).
Podiatrists can work across diverse settings in both rural and urban areas including hospitals, multidisciplinary health clinics, community health centres, private practice, as well as in research and development.
