The Graduate Diploma of Tactical Medicine will provide you with the knowledge, the clinical skills and clinical reasoning required to deal with the complex challenges of treating acute critically ill or injured patients in dynamic and high threat environments. You will learn to assess, plan, prepare and implement strategies for successful operations and patient management within a tactical environment. As well as gaining new clinical knowledge, you will further develop your assessment and diagnostic skills and interventions in the management of diverse population groups. These new competencies can be applied in direct threat, indirect threat and prolonged field care environments.
The Graduate Diploma of Counter-Terrorism and Operational Medicine is a professional development course aimed at training health professionals to respond to and manage acute medical emergencies at critical care level in high-risk environments where their personal safety may still be under threat. It will also allow those with relevant qualifications to enter the fast-growing field of tactical medicine. Additionally, this course will provide transferable knowledge that can be applied in the resource limited medical contracting, search and rescue and expedition medicine environments.
