This qualification reflects the role of individuals establishing or operating a business providing self-employment, as well as those establishing a new venture as part of a larger organisation. These individuals use well developed skills and a broad knowledge base to solve a range of unpredictable problems and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others and have responsibility for the output of others. Students undertaking this course will develop a new business concept for a simulated workplace.
Completion of the bksb (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or higher level course.

This qualification consists of competency in 4 core and 6 elective units. Upon completing all 10 units, students will receive a Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business.
Career opportunities for students undertaking this course include roles such as Small Business Manager, Business Coordinator, Office Supervisor, Accounts Supervisor, and Manager.
Pathways: Students who successfully complete BSB40320 Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business will be eligible for entry into the BSB50120 Diploma of Business/BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management. Students may receive credit towards BSB50120/BSB50420 for units completed in BSB40320. Students will also be eligible for entry into CL86 Bachelor of Business, at CQUniversity.
