This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as developing and emerging leaders and managers in a range of enterprise and industry contexts.
As well as assuming responsibility for their own performance, individuals at this level are likely to provide leadership, guidance and support to others. They may also have some responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of teams.
They apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.
Completion of the bksb (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or higher level course.
What is the purpose of bksb?
The bksb is an approved online review tool that will give the student a level for their English (literacy) and Maths (numeracy) levels, and can also help to identify any skill gaps or areas that the student might need additional support in.

This qualification consists of competency in 5 core and 7 elective units. Upon completing all 12 units, students will receive a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management.
Career opportunities: Supervisor, Coordinator, Team Leader, and Office Manager.
Pathways: Students who successfully completed BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management will be eligible for direct entry into the BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management at CQUniversity.

One (1) unit per 10 week study period.
To ensure you can manage your study load, we recommend limiting your workload to no more than one (1) unit per study period.
Some students may progress at a faster rate based on their experience, knowledge, and skills, as they would be able to apply the actual context of workplace experience to their assessments.
Students must complete five (5) core units and seven (7) elective units.
Seven (7) electives have been recommended for the Online Course delivery.
Students should enrol in a maximum of one (1) unit at a time, commencing at Cluster 1 and progressing through to Cluster 12.
For students wishing to enrol into more than the recommended one (1) unit maximum, this must be discussed with the Teacher before enrolling.
