Course Summary

This qualification would apply to individuals with various job titles including administration managers, general office managers and office managers. Individuals in these roles may possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate their own work and/or the work of a team.

VET Student Loan Information

VET Student Loans may be available for eligible students in approved Diploma level qualifications. The loan can be used towards Tuition Fees only and does not cover additional expenses such as textbooks, uniforms, equipment, travel, tools, and accommodation or general living expenses. Loan limits or caps may apply for some eligible courses and where a loan limit is reached for a course, students may be required to pay upfront for any remaining units.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements, however completion of a Certificate IV or similar qualification is desirable.

Student Outcomes, Career Opportunities and Occupations

  1. Students will receive a Result of Assessment within 21 days of completion of each unit/module or within 21 days of the ‘close of study’ date.
  2. Students who successfully complete all required units/modules will receive their qualification and an Academic Statement itemising all units/modules successfully completed.
  3. Following receipt of written advice from the student (or teacher) that the student does not intend to complete the full course, the student will be issued with a Statement of Attainment listing all units/modules successfully completed.

Credit Transfer into CQU Bachelor of Business

CQU will only recognise Diploma students where the full-time Diploma course duration is one year or greater.


ALL CQU TAFE (BSB50415) students may undertake the Bachelor of Business and may choose any single specialisation.


Students with a completed CQU TAFE (BSB50415) will receive 1 year credit and will enter directly into 2nd year of the CQU Bachelor of Business.


CQU TAFE Diploma Business (BSB50415) students will receive the following credit:

  • Eight unspecified electives.

Students must complete remaining 16 units to complete their degrees as follows:

  • Eight core units.
  • Eight units from chosen specialisation.
