Work integrated learning, including placements, may be included in some courses.
  • On-campus: Students studying in on-campus mode typically are expected to attend and participate in regular, structured on-campus teaching and learning activities throughout the University’s academic term. These activities may include lectures, tutorials, workshops and practice, online or other activities and normally will be timetabled at a CQUniversity campus or approved delivery site.
  • Mixed Mode: Students studying in mixed mode will participate in a combination of online learning activities in addition to site-specific learning activities, which may include residential schools, co-op placements and/or work-integrated learning as a compulsory requirement of a unit. The additional site-specific learning activities are what differentiates a mixed-mode unit from an online unit.

Trinity College Gladstone - Online

This course is typically delivered over a 36-week period. Trinity College students entering this program will have 9 credit transfers from previously completed SIT20322 Certificate II in Hospitality in 2025.

However, as it is competency based, it may also be possible for learners to complete their training sooner if they have reached the required skill level. The delivery mode will be face to face delivery on campus, three days per week. Work simulation and tasks will be undertaken to confirm competency.

The rationale for this time allocation is:

* Self-paced/online study        250 hours (approx 7 hours per week)
* On campus training              100 hours (approx 2.5 hours per week)
* Practical Skills Training          216 hours (36 x 6 hours per service)
* Assessment Preparation        54   hours (approx 1.5 hours per week)

Total: hours: 620 hours

Some students may also progress at a faster rate based on their experience, knowledge and skills as they would be able to apply actual context of workplace experience to their assessments.

All students have access to teachers in class and also via email.

Allocation of non-supervised time enables the student to work at their own pace to complete online learning.

Students participate in services both on school campus and off.

Students are provided with learning and assessment materials through Moodle.
