Course Summary

Throughout this Skill Set, learn how to plan and deliver training to staff in a workplace environment. This accredited skill set is suited for trainers who train small groups of people, delivering accredited or non-accredited content and will enhance the ability to engage learners more effectively. While this skill set does not meet standards to be a qualified trainer at an RTO, the units within this skill set can be credited to the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Students undertaking this course will study the accredited units BSBCMM401 - Make a presentation and TAEDEL301 - Provide work skill instruction.

Entry Requirements

Students must hold a vocational qualification and must have recent and relevant industry experience. Students must also have access to people in the workplace so that training sessions can be delivered for assessment purposes, this does not need to be a commercial workplace and can be any business or not for profit organisation where staff members require training to undertake specific tasks. It is recommended that students have sound language and literacy skills, and at least basic word processing abilities. Students will also be required to have access to a computer with access to the internet.

Student Outcomes, Career Opportunities and Occupations

1. Students will receive a Result of Assessment within 21 days of completion of each unit/module or within 21 days of the ‘close of study’ date.
2. Students who successfully complete all required units/modules will receive their qualification and an Academic Statement itemising all units/modules successfully completed.
3. Following receipt of written advice from the student (or teacher) that the student does not intend to complete the full course, the student will be issued with a Statement of Attainment listing all units/modules successfully completed.

Career Opportunities exist as an Enterprise Trainer or Mentor. Upon successful completion of this accredited skill set, students will receive a Statement of Attainment for the units BSBCMM401 - Make a presentation and TAEDEL301 - Provide work skill instruction.

Mixed Mode

Various course intakes are available in 2018 which are specific to each CQUniversity campus.
20 weeks

This course is available to study via Mixed Mode study. Study will be completed online and will require compulsory attendance at on-campus workshops at either CQUniversity Rockhampton North or CQUniversity Mackay City. Workshops will be available on the following dates:

CQUniversity Mackay City 

  • Monday, 12 February and Tuesday, 13 February 2018 
  • Monday, 9 July and Tuesday, 10 July 2018

CQUniversity Rockhampton City 

  • Monday, 26 February and Tuesday, 27 February 2018 

All workshops will be held from 8.30 am – 3.30 pm each day.

Students studying online require strong self-motivation and must have 4-6 hours per week available for study for each unit. This course is self-paced so students must have sound literacy and numeracy skills and must have access to a computer and the internet
