Course Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Entrepreneurship is a unique online only offering, only available students as per CQUniversity's Graduate Guarantee. The course introduces students to key concepts in business leadership, entrepreneurship and social and business innovation. Successful enrolment in the degree will be subject to the conditions of the Graduate Guarantee Offer which are:

  • Available to all students (domestic and international, onshore and offshore) who have been conferred a CQUniversity undergraduate degree qualification in 2022, or later;
  • Successfully complete at least 16 units with CQUniversity; and
  • Maintain an up-to-date Portfolium / LinkedIn profile.

Eligible students will be required to complete the following units within 12 months under fee-waiver arrangements:

  • BUSN20022 Disruption, Innovation and Entrepreneurship
  • BUSN20023 People, Leadership and Culture
  • BUSN20025 Strategic Marketing
  • BUSN20031 Social Innovation

You must apply for enrolment into this degree by completing an application confirming your inability to achieve relevant employment (neither part-time nor full-time) since your official undergraduate degree conferral date. You must apply between six and 12 months after graduation and complete your Graduate Certificate within 12 months of commencement.

If you are enrolled through the Graduate Guarantee program and do not complete the units within 12 months, you will be transitioned to standard enrolment whereby unit fees will be charged.

If you are interested in these units and a similar style of course but do not meet the conditions of the Graduate Guarantee, you could consider the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration (Leadership), Graduate Certificate in Social Innovation (Leadership), or Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship on a fee-paying basis.

Career Information

Graduates will be able to apply the knowledge and skills they learn in this course in disruption and entrepreneurship, human resources, marketing, and social and business innovation to their current work in organisational settings, or to new initiatives requiring an innovation mindset. Students will be able to articulate into the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration (Leadership) or MBA (Leadership) for further extension at higher levels of study.

Credit Points that Must be Earned 24
Number of Units Required CQUniversity uses the concept of credits to express the amount of study required for a particular course and individual units. The number of units varies between courses. Units in postgraduate courses normally consist of 6 points of credit or multiples thereof (e.g. 12, 18, 24).
Expected Hours of Study One point of credit is equivalent to an expectation of approximately two hours of student work per week in a term.
