This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have supervisory performance accountabilities.
Individuals in these roles carry out a mix of specialist and moderately complex administrative or operational tasks that require self-development skills. They use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base to apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems and analyse information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.
Completion of the bksb (Basic Key Skills Builder) online literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment, unless the student has completed an equal or higher level course.
What is the purpose of bksb?
The bksb is an approved online review tool that will give the student a level for their English (literacy) and Maths (numeracy) levels, and can also help to identify any skill gaps or areas that the student might need additional support in.

This qualification consists of competency in 6 core and 6 elective units. Upon completing all 12 units, students will receive a Certificate IV in Business.
Career opportunities: Office Administrator, Project Officer, Team Leader, Personal Assistant, and Business Coordinator.
Pathways: Students who successfully complete BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business will be eligible for direct entry into the BSB50120 Diploma of Business or BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management at CQUniversity.

One (1) unit per 10 week study period.
To ensure you can manage your study load, we recommend limiting your workload to no more than one (1) unit per study period.
Some students may progress at a faster rate based on their experience, knowledge, and skills, as they would be able to apply the actual context of workplace experience to their assessments.
Students must complete six (6) core units and six (6) elective units.
Six (6) electives have been recommended for the Online Course delivery.
Students should enrol in a maximum of one (1) unit at a time, commencing at Cluster 1 and progressing through to Cluster 12.
For students wishing to enrol into more than the recommended one (1) unit maximum, this must be discussed with the Teacher before enrolling.
This qualification can provide for specialisations in Business Administration or Leadership.
To achieve specialisation in the Certificate IV in Business, choose:
Business Administration Specialisation - identified on the testamur as BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business (Administration)
Leadership Specialisation - identified on the testamur as BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business (Leadership)
