 As a student, in this course  you will communicate in the English language with accuracy, appropriateness and effectiveness this may include listening writing and reading. The language that you use must be  appropriate to the context of the individual, group or workplace including teaching team. You will be required to competently and appropriately constructing written assessment work in a logical, coherent manner, and with correct grammar and punctuation to the required academic standards. You must  have capability to access a computer for your studies, and possessing basic computer knowledge and skills to engage in the on-line learning environment that may include completing relevant on-line assessments and participating in on-line forums or responding to emails. To keep a pace with the class you must be accessing the Internet for research, and email for communication with peers and lecturers.

You will be required to conceptualise using appropriate knowledge in response to academic assessment items. Applying theoretical knowledge, research evidence, policies and procedures in professional practice are the part of learning in this course. While attempting assignments you will be required to retrieve correct information from appropriate sources, processing it and converting it into simpler terms will be necessary. Basic mathematical skill will be required to present financial aspects of assets.

While you are required to be a full time employee in a company, any part of work that you do at your workplace to meet your study requirements of this course are not risk managed or covered by the CQUniversity. You must observe OHS guidelines of your company.

You must follow the protocols to communicate with the teaching team administrative staff as well as with your class mates. Your language should not be offensive and you should not share your personal information during formal communication, verbally, in writing or by actions. 

You will be required to use your reflective skills for answering a question that requires a discussion as a part of class activity or an assessment. 

While finding a solution to any problem asked in the assignment question, you will be required to keep in mind the sustainability. This will require a sense of environmental and social responsibility.

As apart of assessment you may be required to collect data from the live equipment that may involve travelling to the site recording data from the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), any risks associated with these activities will be your own or your company's responsibility.

This course demands that interacting with your colleagues or any other stakeholder in regards to your studies i.e. conduct a discussion, an interview or ask for an advise you have to communicate with respect and integrity. 

While working with your company where are employed while studying this course, you will be required to collect data from CMMS or any equipment that is necessary to answer the question asked in the assignment. Thus Using the Microsoft Office suite of products, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.is a must and you must acquire these skills before attempting assignment. Attending online lecture and tutorials is a must for this course and you must be familiar with hardware and software technology required for this purpose. You will be required to use Learning Management System ( Moodle) on a regular basis, your understanding of the system and also the helpdesk contacts details must be handy for seeking help.  You must be equipped with virtual and email communication on your laptop as well as on your mobile phone phone that has roaming or wifi capability, your laptop or desktop should also be ready with a WiFi connection, required softwares and hardware such as mouse, key board headphones external hard drive etc.  .
