Effective Business Communications develops an understanding of professional communication and behaviour in the workplace. The course introduces students to elements of effective oral communication for participation in business meetings, presenting training sessions and for constructing written communications to both internal and external clients. The course also considers the importance of non-verbal communication (body language) and its role in effective inter-personal communication. Self-reflection and peer assessment are emphasised as tools for self-management, and the development of team work and interpersonal skills appropriate for future success in a professional career are also a key focus. You will gain an understanding of Australian industry employer requirements and the skills required to competently participate in the selection process for graduate positions.
